About Us
Engtech commenced operations in 1988 to provide engineering and environmental services to a variety of industry groups.
Engtech are an approved dangerous goods consultancy, with each employee being accredited by the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) to undertake assessments and licence applications for the storage and handling of all classes of dangerous goods:
- Class 1: Explosives and Security Risk Substances (including Ammonium Nitrate);
- Class 2: Flammable, Toxic, Inert, and Oxidizing Gases;
- Class 3: Flammable Liquid (including Combustible Liquid);
- Class 4: Flammable Solid, Spontaneously Combustible and “Dangerous When Wet” Substances;
- Class 5: Oxidizers;
- Class 6.1: Toxic Substances;
- Class 8: Corrosive Substances;
- Class 9: Miscellaneous Dangerous Goods and Articles.

As a family business, Engtech is owned and managed by John and Steve Maaskant. Both John and Steve are mechanical engineers, with a combined 40 years of consulting experience within the petroleum and chemical handling industries.
As one of the longest standing and most successful DG consultancies in Western Australia, Engtech have established a reputation for honesty and integrity. Engtech provide a wealth of knowledge and an extensive network of industry and regulatory contacts to provide innovative and achievable solutions for our clients.
We pride ourselves on maintaining a high level of communication to offer “quality solutions” that consider health, safety, environment and value for money.
Engtech are engaged by a variety of clients ranging from small businesses such as owner operator service stations and chemical distributors, to major operators such as Ampol, Woodside, BHP, Rio Tinto, Origin Energy and Dunnings Fuel.
